By making a portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with pearls in the womb of oysters, Dr. Kotchandpur Upazila of Jhenaidah has created a stir all over the country. An agricultural entrepreneur named Nazrul Islam. Besides fish farming in the pond, he is also successful in pearl farming.
It is learned that Nazrul graduated from Islamrajshahi University with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in zoology and moved to Japan for higher studies. There he studied the effects of climate change on marine corals. He holds a Doctor of Science degree from Shizuoka University in Japan.
After that Nazrul Islam returned to the country and joined JICA. However, after losing his job due to the Corona epidemic, he returned to the village and started the ‘Ryan Organic-Agriculture’ project. He started cultivating different species of fruits, fish in ponds and pearls.
He said he started cultivating pearls for 2,000 oysters in the Ryan Pearl Harbor project. From which he hopes to sell pearls worth Tk 8-10 lakh this year. In the midst of pearl cultivation, he experimentally created the structure of the portrait of Bangabandhu. He has been successful in 6 months. A portrait of Bangabandhu has been made among his experimentally produced oysters.
Dr. Nazrul Islam said that no extra food is given for oysters to cultivate pearls with fish. It is possible to produce pearls in oysters in only 6-7 months. Its management is not too complicated.
He further said that in pearl cultivation I think whether the best son of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman can be made into pearl or not. For this I made the structure of his portrait in the womb of Mukta. Day by day that structure has turned into a pearl and a portrait of Bangabandhu has been created. I want to give this as a gift to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
