Jessore’s Jhikargachha police have arrested a convict and a drug dealer on death row. According to police sources, under the overall supervision of Jessore District Superintendent of Police BPM (Bar), PPM Praloy Kumar Joardar and under the direction of Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Navaran Circle Jewel Imran and Jhikargachha Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sumon Bhakta, ASI Mohammad Sahid Hossain Bilkis Begum, wife of Ayatollah Khamin of Balia village in Ganganandapur union of the fugitive accused, was arrested on Monday night from her father’s house in Tautara village of Sharsha upazila. Case No. 08, Tang 14/10/2009, GR Case No. 144/2009 of Wise Court, Sessions Case No. 317/2010 in Jhikargachha Police Station against him.
Also, SI (Retd) Kazi Mohammad Sahiduzzaman, who is working at Bankra Police Investigation Center, along with his accomplice, was arrested in Bankra Police Investigation Center area on the basis of secret information. Ramzan Ali alias Bappi, 23, son of Taizel Hossain of Hazirbagh village was arrested with 15 pitch yaba tablets at around 12pm on Tuesday night and a case was filed under Section 10 (a) of the 37 (1) of the Narcotics Control Act, 2016. Case No. 01, Tang-01/02/2022 of the police station against him. Accused Mocha Bilkis Begum and drug dealer Ramzan Ali alias Bappi, who were sentenced to death on Tuesday afternoon, have been sent to a wise court.
